THE CHALLENGES

Urban Sales is presently the sole distributor of IKEA furniture throughout New Zealand, serving as a primary source of revenue since its establishment three years ago. However, the renowned furniture giant, IKEA, revealed their expansion plans into this country in 2021, thereby presenting a substantial threat to Urban Sales’ existing business model.

In response to this challenge, Connected Culture and Urban Sales commenced a collaborative effort to devise and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy. This strategic approach aimed to reduce the company’s reliance on IKEA products, while simultaneously ensuring the sustained growth of the business.

THE SOLUTIONS

Connected Culture and Urban Sales have successfully implemented an omnichannel marketing strategy across various media channels to sustain revenue, optimise the online store’s performance, and initiate the transition of revenue towards non-IKEA products.

We have provided continuous support to the client at a business development level, enabling them to identify the most effective approach for each channel and narrow down their target audience. This strategic approach has resulted in increased conversions, boosting the client’s overall performance.

To streamline advertising efforts, we consolidated the Google and Meta ad accounts, concentrating the ad spend on high-performing campaigns. This consolidation has prevented budget fragmentation and led to improved efficiency in the ad accounts. Remarkably, Google achieved a consistent Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS) of 19, while Meta achieved a ROAS of 29.

Throughout the year, the revenue has demonstrated stability and consistent growth, with an impressive total of over $2.5 million generated exclusively through Google Ads and Meta advertising campaigns. This remarkable outcome showcases the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts and the client’s commitment to achieving outstanding results.
